Haverhill Facility
Blue Hills Facility
Haverhill Landfill, Haverhill, MA
Boston Environmental is presently conducting a shaping and grading operation at the Haverhill Landfill located off Groveland Road in Haverhill, MA. We are accepting any material allowed under the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Policy titled Guidelines for Determining Closure Activities at Inactive Unlined Landfill Sites, July 2001 (other than C&D Fines and Residuals), including soils suitable for reuse at unlined landfills in accordance with the DEP Policy Numbered 97-001 ( pdf). The facility is permitted to accept about 500,000 tons of these materials through a consent order between the DEP and the City of Haverhill and Aggregate Industries (the site owners).
The facility operates Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm. We can open on Saturdays until 3 pm if special arrangements are made. All trucks hauling soils to the site enter through a scale where they are weighed by the site’s 75 ton scale. Once weighed, the truck is directed to the active area of the shaping and grading operation. Once unloaded, the truck proceeds across our wheel wash facility before exiting the site.
Based on our permit conditions, a detailed truck route needs to be followed for all trucks delivering soils to this site. Noncompliance with this truck route will be cause for fines and bans for the offending vehicle. ViewTruck Access Route Map (1 MB pdf) from Route 95 and from Route 495.
